PART 1: BASICS

#1 - Welcome to Mayday Safety (1:59)

Welcome to Mayday's Safety training course for setting up your dashboard! We're glad you're here!

Please note: You can stop the video at 28 seconds. The rest of the video describes a previously used platform.

#2 - Mayday Safety App (3:21)

In this video, Ryan talks about the free Mayday Safety app. Before you begin this video, make sure you have downloaded the app from the Apple App Store if you have an iPhone or the Google Play Store if you have an Android device.

In the app, you will notice three tabs at the bottom: Family, Mayday, and Organizations.

In the Family tab, you can add up to 10 family members so they can see your location-based request for help. This has nothing to do with your organization's dashboard. This is just an optional feature for you to use to help keep you family's safety in check.

In the Mayday tab, you can send emergency alerts. Press the Mayday button three times to send an emergency alert to your family and organization. Please press the button responsibly.

In the Organizations tab, you will be able to accept the invitation to join your school, house of worship, or business. After you join, you'll be able to alert your organization of an emergency.

#3 - Mayday Safety Dashboard (1:04)

In this video, Ryan gives a brief overview of the Mayday Safety dashboard. In the dashboard, you can see the navigation menu, the number of Mayday alerts and pings coming in from members of your organization, as well as the locations of those users during an emergency on an interactive map.

Please note: You will only have access to the dashboard if your organization has purchased a Mayday Safety subscription and selected you as a system administrator.

#4 - Planning (3:26)

In this video, Ryan talks about the importance of planning BEFORE you start to set up your dashboard. Planning helps make your life a little easier and increases the likelihood of a quick and easy dashboard set up.

#5 - Getting Help (1:10)

In this video, Ryan talks about the many ways you can get help or ask  a quick question.

Of course you can call or email us, but you can also use the chat feature in the bottom right corner of the screen. Just click the red button to start a conversation with us or, better yet, you can find a quick answer in the search bar.

This feature is also in the app.

PART 2: SETTING UP YOUR DASHBOARD

#6 - Dashboard Orientation (2:35)

In this video, Ryan gives you a brief overview of the dashboard. This includes the center map and navigation menu on the left.

#7 - Setting Up Groups (4:02)

Please note: Skip adding users for now. Ryan will go over that later on.

In this video, Ryan walks you through setting up groups. When you create a group, you'll choose a name (example: Admins, Teachers), an optional description if you need it, group color, and which users you'd like to add to the group.

The Receive Alerts From Users section is where we see the most mistakes, so pay close attention.

#8 - Setting Up Zones (4:36)

In this video, Ryan shows you how to create, edit, and delete a zone.

Tip: To find your organization's location easily, use the zoom functionality to zoom way out, then in closer and closer. Then, click and drag to move around.

#9 - Adding Users (5:59)

In this video, Ryan shows you how to add users. You can choose to add each user individually or you can add users in bulk using a CSV file (please use the provided template).

Please note: You can also add iPads and Android tablets (with Google Play store capabilities) as a user by changing "Login via" to "Access Code", rather than "Phone."

#10 - Notifications (2:09)

In this video, Ryan talk about the three different types of messages you can send to the users in your organization: simple notifications, checklists, and safety checks.

#11 - Settings (1:23)

In this video, Ryan walks you through the Settings section. Here, you can see details about your organization, details about your Mayday Safety subscription, and choose your organization's work hours.

PART 3: OPERATING YOUR DASHBOARD

#12 - Receiving Alerts (4:59)

Please note: Set up your organization's dashboard before watching these last few videos. At the very least, have all your admins added to the system to begin testing the software.

In this video, Ryan discusses the difference between a ping and a full Mayday alert and what happens on the dashboard when each of those are sent.

#13 - Communication (0:57)

In this video, Ryan goes back to the Notifications tab to show you how to send a simple notification. He also mentions the helpful "read receipt" functionality so you can see who has received the message and who has not.

#14 - Conclusion (0:34)
